Academics & Programs

Our curriculum encompasses epidemiologic theory, terminology and methods, coupled with advanced statistical methods and concepts and methods from biomedical, environmental, ecological, social and behavioral sciences. This breadth of knowledge, and the ability to integrate diverse types of information, is necessary for unravelling the complex causal architecture of health and disease in populations, and for designing more effective ways of controlling, preventing and treating disease and promoting population health.
Master of Science in Epidemiology
This program provides intensive education and training in the concepts and methods of epidemiology and biostatistics for those interested in careers in research on the determinants of health and disease in populations.
MPH concentration in Epidemiology
Students in the Epidemiology concentration gain advanced training in theory, field methods, disease surveillance, and data use — preparing for careers in epidemiologic practice at local, state, and federal public health agencies.
PhD in Public Health Sciences with specialization in Epidemiology
Designed to develop academic researchers in population-based epidemiology and provides advanced training in specialized methods and professional skills in grant and manuscript writing and oral presentation.
