Practice Experience & Integrative Learning Experience Information
In order for an MPH student to enroll in the first practice experience course (PHPH 677 Practice Experience I), the student must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in the MPH program, successfully complete all 4 core MPH courses, and complete or be concurrently enrolled in at least 2 concentration specific courses. In order to enroll in a concentration specific course, the student must complete the core MPH course for that discipline. This is to ensure a strong theoretical foundation has been developed by the MPH student and thus apply their MPH foundational knowledge to their future practice experience opportunity. Students that have not passed all four core courses in Fall I may not enroll in concentration course beyond the Spring I semester and must successfully pass those courses before continuing in the program.
Once enrolled in PHPH 677 Practice Experience I, the part-time MPH student must enroll in PHPH 678 Practice Experience II the following academic semester. After completing PHPH 678 the part-time MPH student must enroll in PHPH 679 Practice Experience III in the following spring semester.
Tuition scholarships are available to students who enroll in the MPH program and are from one of the seven border states of Kentucky:
